This episode of Figuring Out has to be my most favorite podcast of all time. My guest today is someone who I have followed for a long time. It is because of her that I learn the basics of stock markets, investment, etc.
By now, many of you have guessed about the person. But, those of you still cannot think, I am talking about CA, an entrepreneur, a fantastic teacher, and a YouTuber, Rachna Ranade. She is an inspiration for a whole generation of stock market enthusiasts. I am so honoured to have her on my podcast. We discussed her journey from being a CA to a YouTuber with 2.5M followers, which is wholesome and has many funny and inspiring events.

Here are some of the excerpts from my podcast with Rachna Ranade:

1. Be Comfortable in your Zone

Whatever you decide to put up on your YouTube channel, make sure you like doing it. Otherwise, the content becomes so dull, and it is not going to attract any viewers. So instead of following what is trending, make sure you do what you love. Find your style and follow it.
If you like making videos on market updates, stick to it, be comfortable and enjoy making the video. This way, you will connect with the viewers, who will eventually add value to your content and make your channel more popular.

2. Know your Audience

Once you decide that YouTube is what you want to do and have already defined your niche, you will know who your target viewers will be. Being definite will add value to your videos, and the viewers will not get any unnecessary information. Niche is always essential for the creation of relevant content.
Knowing your audience is vital because it is not necessary that everyone on YouTube will be interested in what you upload. So it is the most fundamental thing to do, define your niche and know your audience.

3. Stand Out from the Crowd

YouTube is all about content creators. But, to stand out, you must put value-based content and remain consistent. Therefore, it is the most fundamental thing to learn while you begin your journey as a YouTuber.
Consistency is the key to remaining pertinent. If you are consistent and putting valuable content, then it is definite that you will make your mark and have your own space on YouTube. Consistency also helps in overall growth as a Youtuber because you will learn with every other video you post, and also you will remain updated with the trends. Therefore, consistency is most crucial, and it will remain important throughout your journey as a content creator on YouTube.

4. Plan a Schedule

Beginners often make the mistake of putting quantity over quality when it comes to uploading videos on YouTube. If you think it is required of you to post daily, you have got it all wrong.
Posting quality content is always more important than posting regularly. So prepare content and fix a schedule. If you are comfortable posting one video in a week, please do that. But, again, you will have to post a video per week. The schedule that you fixed cannot be compromised because that will affect your viewers, and you will gradually lose followers and engagement on your channel.

5. Language Should Never Be a Barrier

We all know that English is the most used language on YouTube and even otherwise, so if you are comfortable in English. Well and good. If you are not, you can always pick a language in which you are most satisfied and confident. Because as mentioned in the points earlier, you need to be comfortable in your skin. The videos should not look forced in any manner. If you have a good command of Hindi, make your videos in Hindi. Similarly, you can pick any regional language you control and start making videos in that particular language.
YouTube is a world in itself, and there are so many viewers coming from different spheres of life. There is something for everyone. If you choose any regional language, you will attract viewers speaking that language.

6. Prepare a Checklist

A checklist, I think, is essential for people who are just starting on YouTube. The content should always be crisp, and for that, you need notes ready before you start shooting your video.
Preparing a checklist will also help you mention all the key points you want your viewers to notice and omit something that holds little or no relevance to your video. Notes also assist in scheduling your content, like which point should go first and which should last. It makes your video definitive and adds value to it.

7. Passion has Always Been The Key

Passion is important. There is nothing debatable about it. You might have all the resources you need, and you have the content and everything, but you lack the passion for doing it. Everything else is nothing but a waste of time and resources.
Passion is a virtue if put in the right direction. Passionate people achieve exponential success in whichever field they choose.
Stay passionate, keep learning and keep growing. Being passionate is the only way to remain consistent and post videos valuable and liked by your followers.

The podcast was educative and equally full of funny moments. I learned so many things about growing on YouTube and Rachna’s journey, from a CA to a teacher and a successful YouTuber, which is nothing short of amazing and inspiring.
Words cannot express my happiness. I simply love doing these podcasts and meeting people, knowing their journeys, and learning from them. The experience is so fulfilling. I hope you all will enjoy listening to the podcasts as much as I did being a part of it.
