Everyone has heard workplace feedback, whether it is constructive or not. We may or may not expect it to happen, depending on circumstances. It is often possible to improve the skill of receiving criticism or praise, no matter the circumstances.
Companies and organizations spend millions of dollars on employee engagement programs and workplace engagement every year. Therefore, it is no wonder that feedback conversations are becoming a part of your daily work life.
Employees need to receive feedback about their performance and where they might be able to improve in their roles. But we’re not just talking about annual reviews or appraisals. Instead, organizations need a healthy, open culture where people give and receive feedback regularly and fluidly.

Here is how feedback can help you grow-

1. Motivates

Motivated teams are often more productive. Receiving feedback can motivate team members to achieve goals and objectives. You can also use feedback to help you better understand the strengths and weaknesses of your team. This can then be used to encourage team members and further motivate them in the future.

2. Improves performance

Feedback is often confused with criticism and should not be taken as such. What is perceived as negative criticism is constructive criticism. Negative criticism is one of the most effective sources of feedback to help formulate better decisions that will help to increase performance and increase productivity.

3. Provokes change

People can look at themselves differently after receiving feedback. It gives them an understanding of how others perceive them and the impact of their behavioral style and ways of working with others in the team. Leadership can benefit significantly from this type of insight, as it can help them see why they cannot engender trust and inspire a higher level of performance from their employees.

4. Improves employee engagement

Employees crave feedback even if they don’t express it. Effective feedback is two-sided, and it is helpful to remember this when providing feedback. When team members can provide feedback, they are much more likely to be engaged in the process. With ambitious and growth-driven younger generations making up a significant portion of the workforce, engagement is now relevant more than ever.

5. Improves workplace relationships

Peer-to-peer feedback facilitates communication between employees. In conflict or tension between colleagues, this can be particularly helpful. Feedback gives people an opportunity to openly talk about their issues so they can resolve them and improve their collaboration. Feedback can also prevent conflict from occurring in the first place. It is possible to fix minor problems before they escalate.

Feedback is beneficial to all. Feedback and opportunities to use that in helping individuals, groups, businesses, business units, companies, or organizations improve and enhance their performance. Feedback also helps us establish and maintain relationships with others. It is essential across the entire organization to remain aligned to its goals.

Feedback is important for learning and remembers, continued learning is the key to improving.
