With a boom in the internet since the last decade, the gaming sector has seen vigorous developments. The Indian gaming sector is supposed to touch a $3.9 billion market value by 2025. When chatting with Animesh, aka Thug, and Animesh, aka Scout, I got an insight into the sector. According to these esports legends, India has great potential but needs help locating the correct person at the right time.

Animesh and Tanmany also said if they receive the right help from the government, they will be able to take India to new heights. So, let’s find out how the government can boost the gaming industry.

1. Spreading awareness

To ensure the long-term growth of the gaming sector, governments can invest in education and training programs to help develop the skills needed in the sector. This can include support for technical schools, universities, and vocational training centers that offer courses in game design, programming, and other related fields. Additionally, governments can work with sector associations to provide internships and apprenticeships to students and recent graduates. By investing in education and training, the government can help ensure a steady supply of talented and skilled individuals who can contribute to the growth of the gaming sector.

2. Creating favorable regulations

The government can also play a crucial role in creating favorable regulations for the gaming sector. For example, they can set up frameworks for licensing and certification, which will help reduce fraud, protect consumers, and improve the overall reputation of the sector. Additionally, the government can work with the sector to create fair trade practices and ethical standards, which will promote responsible gaming practices. By creating a supportive regulatory environment, the government can help build trust in the gaming industry and encourage more players to participate.

3. Funding for the gaming sector

The way government has promoted the startup culture in the country through various schemes, it can boost the gaming sector similarly. A separate fund should be created, and it should focus on initiating schemes to help potential gamers connect. There should be a viable infrastructure that will support this sector. Since gaming is not considered a stable earning sector, most people keep gaming as a side hustle that impacts their esports tournament performance. Once the gamers know they have government backing, they will be able to go all in. Government funding will also curb the hazard of offshore illegal gambling platforms and protect Indian gamers from falling prey to unauthorized operators.

With the advent of the gaming sector, the government is also interested in boosting the industry. As per the latest reports, they plan to develop various policies for the same. This is certainly great news for gamers around the country.
