3 Tried and Tested Ways to Build a Loyal Audience Base
A relationship with your audience is simple. As a Content Creator, you only need to provide what the audience likes. But isn’t figuring out what our audience will appreciate the biggest headache every Creator has to deal with? Well, I said it was simple, not easy. Who better than Bhuvan Bam, a.k.a BB Ke Vines, to answer this question? Bhuvan has over 25 million followers across platforms. His popularity is comparable to any superstar you know. But this didn’t happen in one day. Here’s Bhuvan’s blueprint for building a solid audience base and what he does to retain it.
1. Consistently review data and analytics
Even though there are people who have seen massive success without implementing data insights, the odds are against you if you follow the same route. And even if these successful creators didn’t focus on analyzing data metrics initially, they all eventually had to review data for steady growth. From how many impressions your social media posts get to what age group of people is watching your video, your video needs to find that ‘target audience’- meaning the category of audience your work most appeals to.
2. Monitor feedback
I know instant feedback is scary to say the least. Some stranger on the internet critiquing your work without knowing the hard work that went behind it- seems harsh and useless. But as they say, truth is a bitter pill to swallow. If you want to know what it is that you need to give to your audience, read every comment on every single one of your posts. While some will criticize you constructively, most will not! However, look past the way it’s said and focus on the intent of the words. Audiences are demanding, and you’ll understand what they want if you scan the complaints. Remember, this is the only way audiences can communicate with you directly. The more comments you get, the more giant goldmine you sit on.
3. Experiment with your content
Here’s where a lot of Creators go wrong. Once a certain kind of content picks up, creators continue producing similar content. But in the era of trends changing daily, you must bring flavor into the game. This will also eventually impact your growth. Diversifying your content will push you to acquire a wider audience. While your comedic skits work well with teenagers, a 35-year-old man vibe with your travel blogs, or a 50-year-old mother might enjoy knowing how you made those delicious cupcakes.
If you thought winning an audience over was tough, let me tell you that retaining them is even more challenging. The only solution is to evolve with your audience constantly, and take them along on the roller coaster ride that is content!
