Content creation is probably one of the most sought-after professions at the moment. There are many reasons behind this. One is: it empowers you to be your own boss. You can create something of your own and share it with people worldwide. There are different forms of content you can create. It can be blogs, videos, podcasts, articles, and more. These are some of the best ways to have a successful career in content creation as told by the one and only Amit Bhadana.

1. Find what interests you

There are a lot of topics that can help you build your career. You have to find something that you are genuinely interested in. It can be business, travel, wellness, make-up, beauty, fashion, books, movies, or interior decoration. Remember, when you choose one topic, you must delve deep into it. You have to explore all sorts of things that come with it. For instance, if you opt for travel, be prepared to continually explore new and offbeat destinations. As a food blogger, you have to be out there trying new cuisines, restaurants, and cafes. Only if you’re confident in your ability to fully engage with these experiences should you select this path.

2. Plan your content timing and form

Now, you can choose reels and Instagram posts as your medium or YouTube videos, podcasts, or articles. But whatever it is, you must be comfortable using it, and most importantly, be consistent. As for me, I post new podcasts every Wednesday and Sunday. And for years, I have kept it that way. Being consistent is vital — haphazard postings can significantly impact your audience growth in terms of viewers, subscribers, or followers. So fix the dates you would be posting and stick to it no matter what. Also, be consistent with your content. Say you are posting about outfits for college, and you do two series on it and shift to something completely different; your followers would be confused and not follow your content anymore.

3. Study your competitors but be genuine

You have to study your competitors a lot. That would give insights into the best timing for posting and what kind of videos or reels get the maximum response. You have to check on their numbers and compare yours. Find out whether the growth rate is coherent or not. If the result is not harmful, dig into what they are doing differently. But that is just numbers and logistics. The backbone of your channel/page is your content. And there, you must refrain from copying anyone’s style. There, you have to depend on your creativity and follow your guts. You have to produce something fresh. Otherwise, why would anyone watch your content?

Some other ways are to interact with your audience and take their opinion; you have to network at every opportunity and stay updated with current reads. If this sounds complicated, well, it is. If it were that easy, everyone would be doing it. And most importantly, it is your career. So if your 9–5 job doesn’t interest you, you must put that effort here. You must take it seriously to gain something from it.
